HTML Button Tutorial

Photo credit to Fitzsimmons Weekly

Pointless Button
Today I've got a tutorial on how to make a pointless button in HTML. It is simple and requires on piece of code, shown below.

Code:
<input type="button" value="Pointless Button" /><br />

You can use it to submit forms, and more. The input type does not matter for the most part, and the
value="your button name here"
changes what the button text displays. You can use the button as a pointless button, as seen above, or configure it to a forum to submit. Either way, the code is nice to have.

Form Button
Here is a more, yet low, functionality button used in forms or pages in which you'd like to redirect to another page on a site. Here this button sends you to our news section of the site which has not been completed, coming soon!

Code:
<form method="get" action="/news">
    <button type="submit">News</button>

Here is a form code, which will redirect you to the /anypageonasite.
For blogger, you will have to do /p/pagename.html.
For most sites, you will have to do /page or /page.html or /page.filetype

Link Button
Use this code if you'd like full control over where a button takes you. This allows you the control over where and where you move.

Code for Google:
<form action="http://google.com">
    <input type="submit" value="Go to Google">
</form>

Code for FitzWeekly Home:
<form action="http://fitzweekly.com">
    <input type="submit" value="Home">
</form>

New MacBook Pro coming September?

A new MacBook Pro may be released soon, around September following Apple's release cycle. The new iPhone 5S may be released then as well, but we'll really have to wait and see.
As for the chips themselves, the International Business Times reported that Apple has asked Intel to provide an “ultra-high performance” version of the Haswell CPU for use in the new MacBook Pro. Apple requested that the special Haswell chips be fitted with Intel’s top-of-the-line GT3e (Iris Pro 5200) integrated graphics.
The Diplomat

As far as past release cycles, the Macbook Pro should have two options, Retina and non-retina. As almost every Apple all-in-one device sports a retina display, Apple may eliminate the barrior between Retina and non-retina with this release.

Surviving School Tip #1: School Supplies

School is just around the corner- have you gotten your school supplies yet? If you apply my tips below to your shopping, I can assure you that you'll save some money, time, and space.

1. Print off the school supply list for your school. Be sure to get everything that your teachers recommended (including colors.) It would be a shame if you started the year off on the wrong foot with your teacher by not following easy directions.

2. Think about last year. Ask yourself, "What did I use a lot of? Did I run out of anything?" If you answered yes, get extras of those supplies. I get about 50 mechanical pencils when shopping, because later in the year they cost a lot more.

3. Get a planner if your school doesn't supply you one, or if you don't care for the one they give you. Make sure that your planner has enough room for you to write all of your homework and agenda down in a normal size. If you use it for a week and notice that you are forgetting assignments and after school activities, it is time to try something else.

4. Go shopping on tax free weekend if you are wanting to save some money. Check your state to see if they offer this, and if any restrictions apply. I do have to warn you that tax free weekend is CRAZY, and I personally don't think that it is worth it.

5. Binders take up lots of space, and they fall apart easily. Try using a Hybrid Note binder by Mead. They are around $10-15 each USD, and you can find them at your local office supply store. I wouldn't recommend buying one for every class (mainly because of the price), but they are nice to use for maybe one special class (I use mine for Spanish) and then one for general use. Ex. folders for each class, planner, notebook paper, etc.

6. Keep an eye out for the classic coupons. The savings add up fast!

I know that I didn't cover too much in this post, so if you have any questions/comments/suggestions please ask down in the comments! Happy shopping!
Lauren

What's different? Nexus 7 (2013) vs Nexus 7 (2012)

The Nexus 7 (2013) has quite a few enhancements. Here's a list from Engadget showing the comparison which you can check out below.

The new tablet has a new high-def display, slightly higher pricing, better cellular, WiFi, cameras, resolution, memory, plus lower weight, thickness, and sadly, battery life. I'd recommend anyone looking for a $230 tablet to check this new Nexus 7 out.

Google reveals Chromecast

Image credit to Google
Chromecast is being offered at $35 a pop, and why would it be a good thing to get?

What it does

The new device from Google allows Netflix, YouTube, and Google Play streaming, along with 3 months free of the service on Netflix with the purchase, and an 'air-play' like functionality. The device allows web browsing and other Chrome services.
The  streaming service
The device lets you run most Android (and hopefully) and iOS apps according to Google. We'll be reviewing this shortly and we hope that the service will expand and give us more.

Requirements

Subscriptions may be required to use with certain content providers. Chromecast is compatible with WiFi-enabled Android 2.3+ smartphones and tablets; iOS 6.0+ iPhones, iPads, and iPods; Chrome for Mac® and Chrome for Windows®; and Chromebook Pixel.
Chromecast Intro

First, if you read over these statements, you'll notice that other Chromebook compatibility seems to be non-existent other than a Pixel. This may mean that other Chromebooks may not be able to use the product, but this might not be the case. The one thing that makes it a bit different, their is no remote.

You must have a Chromecast compatible device to control your TV.

How it works

How it fits in the TV
The Chromecast plugs into HDTVs through HDMI. Next you set it up by connecting it to WiFi, and then your device can be streamed to by any one of your devices compatible with Chromecast.

Apple's CEO promising 'Amazing new products' soon

Image credit to Apple
Apple's CEO promised 'Amazing new products' coming soon. As told by ABC New's own Joanna Stern.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) reported that it sold 31.2 million iPhones for the three months ending in June, better than Wall Street's expectation amid a competitive smart phone market. CEO Tim Cook promised "amazing new products that we will introduce in the fall and across 2014."
Joanna Stern, ABC News
ABC News

This could mean a new Macbook, iPhone, or iPad variant is to come. I personally hope that a new Macbook hybrid between a Pro and an Air shows up soon, having 3 variants of the Macbook would also help out students looking for an inexpensive laptop or anyone who needs a powerful punch in a laptop, but also would like some budget. The Air covers most of those things, but maybe the middle device will give a Retina Display to this middle end device.

On the subject, Apple has been seen testing larger screen iPhones and iPads. This could mean that these new devices would be aimed at competing with other companies and their ever-larger screen sizes. iOS must get to be a bit more flexible with resolutions and displays, and developers might have more options after the 'new products' coming later this year. If you'd like to know more about the new screen size testing, check it out at WSJ.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare to be released Spring 2014

Garden Warfare (Shown above)

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare  is said to be released Spring 2014. The game mixes first-person shooters, third-person shooters, and Plants vs. Zombies together to form Garden Warfare. The game has an array of new characters and many found in the original PvZ. The game is going to be on the Xbox, and we'll have to wait and see if it makes it to other consoles/steam. Hopefully the game will have a few more peeks at the final version soon, and we'll keep you updated.

Will you be downloading it?

Ubuntu Edge

The Ubuntu Edge (shown above)

The Ubuntu Edge project has began funding and the project plans to get a smartphone built from the ground up for Ubuntu, and even a dual boot with Android. The phone runs both OSes and has exclusive support from Ubuntu forums and more. The phone runs the newly-crafted Ubuntu OS and targets almost all markets. To get the phone released, the Edge needs 32 million dollars in 31 days. Luckily, the Ubuntu Edge already got 2 million in one day. If all goes well, they'll be done in no time at all. Ubuntu OS was released just this last February and looks very nice, plus you can check out the Edge and it's OS below.

The device comes with a 4.5 inch display, beyond 330ppi, dual-booting Ubuntu Phone OS and the latest Android,  and access to run a whole OS from the phone (Ubuntu, of course). I recommend checking it out, and until next time,  we'll try and keep everyone updated.

GBA4iOS blocked, no more Pokemon on your iPhone

No more Mario for your iPhone
Recently, we had shown you guys how to get GBA4iOS, and a few days ago Apple blocked the process to anyone who isn't a developer. MacBuildServer has been verified as a server that violated Apple's terms and conditions. If you are a developer and have XCode, you still can sign the app and put it on your phone yourself.

Oh, and we're back online!

New Macbook Pro teased

Image credit to Apple
A new Macbook Pro may be coming soon, as Best Buy  is offering $200 off of their 13-inch Macbook Pro lineup. Now first what would a new Macbook Pro feature?

Retina Display
A new Macbook would probably require the Retina Display or at least lower the cost of having one. If the new Mac would make that a requirement when you purchase it, it could alter the competition against other computers.

Haswell Cores
The new Macbook Air has the 4th-gen Intel i5 and i7 cores. These put the Macbook Air ahead in speed and usability to the previous Macbook Pro. Haswell would boost the speed and reason to buy a Pro.

Design
Macbook Pro could upgrade the design to become thinner, or more ports in a slimmer design. It could be almost be a cross of an Air and a Pro. The design could be updated as it has been the same since 2010.

To be updated as more is announced!

BBC suspending 3D indefinitly

BBC will be suspending 3D indefinitly
   BBC has announced that the return to 3D won't be occurring for the year of 2014. On November 23rd, BBC aired Doctor Who in 3D for the 50th Anniversary and hasn't promised a return of the feature. It seems that the public isn't interested in the idea of 3D broadcasting, as glasses and special TV setups are required to generate any revenue for BBC and causes issues for the viewer.

The BBC is to suspend 3D programming for an indefinite period due to a "lack of public appetite" for the technology.
BBC News - Full Story
   Kim Shillinglaw, the head of BBC's 3D department, says that it "has not taken off audiences".  Studies in the US show that no more than 120,000 people are watching 3D channels at once. The demand for the shows aren't relevant with a majority of the world's population not watching the TV often. Besides all the limiting factors of this, the continuation of the 3D department has been suspended and doesn't seem to be coming back at all, until 3D may become some sort of wave of the future or another technology comes along. I am excited to see what comes next, but 3D doesn't seem relevant.

Borderlands 2 Review

Borderlands 2 Review

Borderlands 2 is a well-made, solid, game. The game runs generally well on most setups but has great design, custom skins for everything, and great characters. Throughout the game, I had found that almost every aspect wasn't a copy of another. Everything seemed custom and different throughout the levels. The monsters, people, and other objects were completed in the best way possible, and the outlines make everything distinct and complete.

Nokia 1020 Announcement vs Galaxy S4 Zoom

Galaxy S4 Zoom
When the Galaxy S4 Zoom was announced, the phone was known for its 13-megapixel 10x zoom camera. Nokia knows even though zoom is important, compromising specs and other parts of the phone (weight, size, looks) wouldn't get them the boost in sales they need right now. When the Nokia 1020 was announced, Nokia had made a fast, sturdy, good looking, and perfect phone for the photographer or anyone who likes a phone that can handle some photos.

Galaxy S4 Zoom

The Galaxy S4 Zoom comes with a 4.3-inch, 960x540-pixel display, a 1.5GHz dual-core, and seems to have quite a bit of compromises for its 10x optical zoom camera on the back. It has a 16 MP camera, which will probably be competing with the Nokia 1020's new 41 MP camera to-be announced tomorrow. It adds much bulk, but will be released this fall along with the S4 Mini.

Grand Theft Auto V: September 2013

Grand Theft Auto V: September 2013

The official trailer from Rockstar Games

As many in the gaming industry have known, Grand Theft Auto V will be released on September 17th 2013 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 exclusively. Note that no mention of any other gaming devices.

 As my general questioning of this release, will it be available for the next generation consoles? So far, the site speculates around the new city of Vinewood, (seen in quite a few photographs) and presumably will be similar to Vine City and pretty much all other games in the series.

New features such as Grand Theft Auto Online and multiple characters adds many new elements, plus not to mention the ability to play tennis right before you rob a bank, or jump off of a mountain to a four wheeler before you break open a case of cash. This game still has much to be revealed, but you should check out the site.
